The Chief Operating Officer shall report directly to the Managing Director and serve as the single accountable executive for safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Pakistan’s national transmission network. The role integrates long-term asset planning, day-to-day grid operations, capital project execution, and enterprise security to ensure compliance with NEPRA standards and optimal asset performance. Required skillset includes operational leadership, financial acumen, power systems and regulatory knowledge, safety and risk management, digital and technology orientation, stakeholder management, and strategic mindset. The COO must lead national transmission system availability, provide integrated leadership across multiple departments (Asset Planning & Engineering, Field Operations & Maintenance, Project Delivery, Commercial Contracts & Stakeholder Management, and enterprise security), and drive innovation in grid modernization including SCADA systems, asset condition monitoring, and renewable energy integration.
